When I started working from home, I didn’t do much to make the experience enjoyable for me. My “office” was my dining room table and I spent all day hunched uncomfortably over my laptop.
Is it any wonder that it wasn’t a great experience for me?
Gradually, I’ve modified my work place to increase my comfort and improve my work from home experience.
To help you improve your own work from home experience, I’ve identified my favorite work from home essentials below. These work from home essentials will improve your work from home experience and will make your life just a little bit easier.

Printer
When I started to work at home more frequently, a printer was one of the first things I purchased.
I haven’t had a printer at home for a while and I had forgotten how convenient it can be. In addition to printing the occasional item for work, I use it to print return mailing labels and coloring book sheets for some therapeutic adult coloring.
This is one of my favorite work from home essentials.

Dry Erase Board Calendar
There are *tons* of dry erase board calendars out there. This one is my favorite because you can list and prioritize your to-dos on a daily basis.
I love sitting down in the morning and planning my tasks for the day. There’s something so meditative about contemplating the day ahead of you.

Dry Erase Board
In addition to a dry erase board calendar, I like having a regular dry erase board for taking notes during phone calls.
Instead of using paper to jot down notes, I can use the dry erase board. Less wasted paper!

Computer Monitor
Hunching over a laptop has wreaked havoc on my shoulder and neck muscles.
Having a decent computer monitor is essential for maintaining my physical well-being.

Standing Desk Converter
I love the *idea* of standing desks, but let’s be real. I’m not going to stand for the entire day.
I like this standing desk converter because you can place it on an existing table and raise it up and down when you want to stand or sit.

Desk Chair
My dining table chairs are great for eating meals. They’re not so great for sitting on them all day long to work.
Enter this spectacular desk chair. It’s pretty and functional. Exactly what my back needs right now.

Noise-Cancelling Headphones
Even if you’re working alone, outside noises can be distracting.
When you really need to focus, noise-cancelling headphones are great for cutting out all outside distractions.
Try them – you won’t be disappointed.

Nespresso Machine
Drinking coffee is an *experience* when using this machine. I love it so, so much.
It’s a little more challenging to stop by a coffee shop when working from home. This machine brings the coffee shop home to you.

Lap Desk
There are some days when I prefer to work in bed rather than at my desk.
Lap desks were invented for those days.
I especially like the cell phone holder on this one, since my cell phone tends to get lost in the covers during my “work from bed” days.

Loungewear
If I could write a love letter to these joggers, I would.
I recently bought a second pair to double the number of times I could wear them between laundry days.
When you’re working from home, you want to be comfortable. These joggers will do that for you.

Candle
One of the benefits of working from home is that you don’t have to worry about those pesky office rules about no open flames.
Light those candles up while working from home! There’s something so zen-like about having a nice candle going while at home.

Water Bottle
I have been *terrible* about hydrating while working from home.
I’m trying to trick myself to drink more water by using pretty water bottles.
Water bottles don’t get much prettier than this one.

And those are my work from home essentials! I hope that these items help to improve your work from home experience and make your life just a little bit easier.
