Vinebox is a unique wine club that provides you with a monthly box of wines by the glass.

I’ve been using Vinebox for six months and look forward to every shipment. Read my review below to decide whether this service is right for you, too.

Vinebox

Who should try Vinebox?

Vinebox works for me because I usually only want a single glass of wine on weeknights.

I’m the only wine drinker in my household. If I open an entire bottle, most of the bottle will go to waste if I don’t like it or don’t finish the bottle before it goes bad. With Vinebox’s single serving sizes, I don’t waste any wine.

I also love trying new types of wines. Vinebox staff find the best wines and ship them to me in cool, serving-size cylinders.

Vinebox

Plans & Cost

Vinebox gives you three options for the types of wines you’d like to receive:

  • Just reds
  • Just whites
  • Both reds and whites

TIP: In the summertime, Vinebox will ship you rosé wines if you select either whites or both reds and whites. If you usually prefer reds, you can stick to reds during the winter and switch to both reds and whites during the summer to get rosé wines.

Each month, you’ll receive a box with three cylinders of wine. You can choose to receive more than one box to increase the number of glasses you receive each month.

You can sign-up for a one month, three month, or one year plan:

  • One month: $29 per month ($9.67 per glass)
  • Three months: $27 per month ($9 per glass)
  • One year: $25 per month ($8.33 per glass)

Although the per glass cost may seem a little pricey, it’s worth it to someone like me who wants to try new wines but doesn’t want to purchase an entire bottle.

Vinebox

Delivery

All my Vinebox shipments have been delivered by FedEx. Some other food/drink delivery services cut costs by going with budget carriers. That usually means the package is damaged, comes late, or doesn’t come at all. That’s not the case with FedEx. My Vinebox shipments arrive right on time and in great shape. I appreciate that Vinebox doesn’t cut corners here.

Vinebox requires that an adult sign for the box (because: alcohol). This can be a little frustrating if you miss the delivery and have to wait a day for the delivery person to come back or have to go pick up the delivery.

TIP: Have your package delivered to work or a friend who will be home for the delivery (and won’t drink your wine!). That way someone will be available to sign for the package.

Vinebox

Packaging

Vinebox packaging is super cool. The wine is stored in glass cylinders cushioned inside a compact, sturdy box. It’s so pretty that I feel bad recycling it!

Each wine comes with a card that describes the wine in a fun and easy to understand way. You’ll learn where the wine was grown, what food tastes good with it, and a fun fact about the wine’s region or vineyard. The card also describes the wine’s fruit, body, and tannin so that wine novices like myself can start to learn wine terminology.

And don’t forget to turn the card over to read the quote on the back!

TIP: The glass cylinders are very fragile. I broke one once. I’ve never cried over spilled milk, but that spilled wine got me a little teary-eyed.

Vinebox

Taste

I’ve been very happy with the taste of Vinebox‘s wines so far. Vinebox has gotten me outside of my comfort zone and introduced me to new wines that are now favorites.

The description cards explain the best foods to eat with the wine, which makes the wine experience even better. I usually pair the wine with one of my meal kit delivery meals. You can read more about meal kit delivery services here: Why You Should Try Meal Kit Services.

Should you try Vinebox?

I look forward to every shipment of Vinebox and recommend it to all my friends and family.

Vinebox is especially great for someone who wants to try new wines, but doesn’t want to commit to an entire bottle. Vinebox staff find the best wine so that you get great glasses of wine each month in a cool, compact box. No wine goes to waste with Vinebox’s per glass service.

Vinebox is a great way to learn about new wines. The wine cards in each package help you learn more about the wine in a fun, easy to understand way.

Even if Vinebox isn’t for you, it makes a great gift for friends and family. My brothers and I gifted my mom Vinebox for Mother’s Day.

I highly recommend Vinebox and hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
