It’s hard to be at your best with friends, family, or at work when you’re feeling tired and run down. Take an occasional day to recharge so that you can be at your best when you’re helping others. You deserve it!!

1. Enjoy your coffee or tea
Make some coffee or tea at home or go to a coffee house. And then just sit and enjoy it! Take time to savor the moment.
I have a Nespresso machine at home. It’s like luxury in a cup. Feels like I’m treating myself every single day!
2. Schedule a spa treatment
Get a pedicure, manicure, facial, or massage. Schedule one appointment or make a whole day of it.
Spa treatments are the ultimate way to pamper yourself.
3. Read a book or magazine (or watch a movie!)
I love reading, but it feels like there’s never enough time to stop and read during the day. Reading is a great way to take time for yourself.
I recommend Shonda Rhimes’ Year of Yes. It’s hilarious and reminds you to occasionally focus on growing yourself instead of always focusing on what others need.
If you’d rather watch a movie, put on an old favorite movie, grab a comfy blanket, and enjoy!
4. Take a long bath
When you’re always rushing around, a bath can feel like a luxury. A long bath is a great way to treat yourself.
5. Get some exercise
Can’t seem to find the time to exercise? On Treat Yo Self Day, take a walk, go on a run, or take a yoga class. Anything that makes you feel like you’re pampering yourself!
6. Spend time with friends
Enlist friends to join you on Treat Yo Self Day! They can join you for the whole day or just meet you for part of it.
You can go to brunch, see a movie, go on a hike – anything that both you and your friends love to do!

Oh, wow…do I love naps. But naps are hard to come by. I highly recommend taking a nap on Treat Yo Self Day.
9. Order In
My personal Treat Yo Self Day involves absolutely no time in the kitchen. So, I order in from my favorite restaurant.

10. Keep Treat Yo Self Day going all year!
If you take some time for yourself every day, you’re less likely to get run down. When you’re tired, you can’t devote as much energy as you’d like to the things that are important to you.
