Queenstown, New Zealand is so beautiful that it’s easy to overlook its culinary scene. But there’s so much food to love and eat in Queenstown! Here are the top things you need to eat in Queenstown, New Zealand.
Queenstown is one of those rare places in the world that I could visit again and again. And it’s all because of the food.
Sure, the scenery is breathtaking. And the people are super nice. But I’ve yet to have a burger that compares to the ones I ate in Queenstown (yes, that’s a plural “burger”). And I *need* those Queenstown cookies in my life again.
If you’re lucky enough to visit Queenstown, please let me live vicariously through you!

Fergburger

Anyone who knows me has likely heard me talk about Fergburger. Fergburger has the best burger you will ever have in your life.
You’ll easily spot Fergburger in Queenstown by the long line out the door most hours of the day.
They have huge burgers with delicious, fresh toppings and a little something called tomato relish that will change your life. Seriously. Get the tomato relish.
If you’re not a burger person, I can attest to their delicious chicken sandwiches and egg sandwiches. I can attest to that because I ate at Fergburger 3 times in 7 days. Yes, it was gluttonous. No, I don’t have any regrets.

Mrs. Ferg
While standing in line for Fergburger, you’ll likely spend most of your wait next to a place called Mrs. Ferg.
The name is no coincidence – this establishment is part of the overall Ferg & Co. restaurant group.
Mrs. Ferg serves delightful concoctions of gelato and sorbet. While Mrs. Ferg would ideally be located *after* Fergburger, who says you can’t eat dessert before dinner?
So while you’re waiting in line for Fergburger, hop into Mrs. Ferg for a scoop of gelato or two. Or three.

Stratosfare Restaurant

The Stratosfare Restaurant is located at the top of Bob’s Peak in Queentown’s Skyline complex.
This is a must-eat place in Queenstown. It’s buffet-style eating, which can be hit or miss, but at the Stratosfare, it’s definitely a hit.
This restaurant has one of the best buffets I’ve ever enjoyed. There was something there for just about every taste palette.
You’ll find it hard to save room for dessert, but you have to because there’s an entire room devoted to those culinary creations! Delicious!
Be sure to make advance reservations, as the Stratosfare is extremely popular.

Cookie Time
Not a day goes by that I don’t think about the “cookie shot” I got from Cookie Time in Queenstown.
A small little cup filled with a delicious mixture of chocolate and cookie crumbles.
While you can find Cookie Time’s packaged cookies throughout New Zealand, you have to go to the store in Queenstown to get this cookie shot.
The cookie shot unfortunately doesn’t travel well. Believe me, I tried to take supplies with me.
And so I will be journeying back to Queenstown as soon as possible to experience this cookie shot once more.

Botswana Butchery
Botswana Butchery is the spot you’ll go to in Queenstown if you’re looking for a more formal meal.
If you’d like to experience New Zealand’s specialty of lamb, get it at the Botswana Butchery.
And don’t worry about getting too dressed up. Like most places in Queenstown, casual attire is perfectly acceptable at the Botswana Butchery.

I hope this list of the things you need to eat in Queenstown, New Zealand has inspired you to start planning your visit! I know I’ll be going back as soon as I can! Happy travels!
