Want to make some extra money? (As in, legit, actual ways you can make extra money?) Look no further. This article will give you some easy ways you can make money online right now.
Many of us could benefit from a little extra money. But with stay-at-home orders and travel restrictions, we’re more limited in how we can make that extra money at the moment.
Not to worry. There are plenty of ways you can make extra money from the comfort of your sofa.
Read on for some easy ways you can make money online from your home right now.

1. Use an alternative search engine
Using an alternative search engine is one of the easiest ways you can make money online. And it takes almost no additional effort. All you need to do is use a search engine other than Google.
Swagbucks and Bing.com are both search engines that you can use as an alternative to Google.
Both of these search engines have reward programs to encourage people to use them. In exchange for using these search engines, you accumulate points for your searches. When you accumulate enough points, you get your choice of a number of rewards, including gift cards to places like Starbucks and Target.
This is one of my favorite ways to make money online because so little effort is involved.
2. Take surveys
In between watching your next Netflix episode or prepping for your next TikTok dance, how about taking a survey to earn a little extra cash?
There are several online survey companies that will pay you for providing your opinion via survey responses.
These surveys typically ask you questions about your buying habits and your opinions on different brands. This information then helps businesses market their product to consumers.
As you take surveys, you’ll accumulate award points. Once you accumulate a certain number of points, you can exchange the points for gift cards or cash.
Here are some of my favorite survey companies to make money online:

3. Start a money-making blog
Do you like researching topics and sharing what you’ve learned with others? Or do you enjoy sharing your experiences with others so that they can benefit from your life lessons?
If the answer is “yes” to either question, consider starting a blog.
I started East by Midwest as an opportunity for self-expression, to get my mind off my day job, and to share my experiences so I could help others.
Along the way, I also learned that it’s possible to make money online from a blog.
If helping others, being your own boss, and making extra money appeal to you, read this article for step-by-step instructions to start your own blog.
4. Sell secondhand clothing
I have been on a Marie Kondo kick recently. And it so happens that most of my closet doesn’t bring me joy.
But one thing that does bring me joy? Selling those items on ThredUp and Poshmark! These websites make it easy to sell secondhand clothing.
ThredUp
To use ThredUp, you’ll go to the company’s website and request a clean-out kit (which is a mailing bag and label). Once you receive the kit, you’ll fill-up the bag with secondhand clothing and send it back to ThredUp. The company will then sell your items for you (take pictures, price the items, and ship to buyers). ThredUp is one of the easiest online consignment shops to use if you just want to make quick money. I use ThredUp to sell my moderately priced items.
Poshmark
To use Poshmark, you create your own online shop. You can see mine here. You’re responsible for taking pictures, pricing, and shipping all the items to buyers. While Poshmark is more work than ThredUp, the payout is higher. I use Poshmark for my higher-end items where I want to control the price.
Both ThredUp and Poshmark are great ways to make money online.

5. Sell something on Etsy
Etsy is my go-to for buying downloadable templates for baby showers, bridal showers, and rehearsal dinners. If you’re skilled at making these types of invitations, you can make a downloadable template once and sell it multiple times on Etsy as an easy way to make money online.
I’ve also been using Etsy to purchase fabric face masks. If you’re decent with a thread and needle, then you could sell masks on Etsy.
Making fabric face masks serves several great benefits. First, you’ll make some extra money. But you’ll also reduce the demand for N95 masks so those masks can go to health care workers. You’ll also help reduce community spread of coronavirus by masking those who don’t show any symptoms but could still be contagious to others.
No matter what product you create – selling on Etsy is a win-win. You’ll make money online and those who purchase from your shop will benefit from using your products.
6. Be a tutor
Many schools and businesses are physically closed right now. And parents are attempting the impossible task of juggling both full-time remote work and full-time homeschooling.
That means that online tutoring is a very necessary service right now.
You can assist both students and parents by offering your tutoring services online. You’ll give parents an opportunity to focus on their jobs. And you’ll give students an opportunity to focus on their school work.
Here are some great websites that connect tutors with students:

7. Sell pictures or videos
Are you an exceptional photographer or videographer? If yes, consider selling your photos or videos to make money online.
One of the most lucrative ways to sell your photography or videography is through your own website. Setting up your own website to sell items is similar to setting up a blog.
You can create your own website through SiteGround for less than $4 a month. Check out this post for tips on creating your own website.
If you prefer to sell your items through another website, check out Shutterstock, Adobe Stock, and Etsy for opportunities to sell your material.
8. Sell your designs
Do your talents lie in the visual arts? If so, you could make money online by selling your designs.
Websites like Fiverr and 99Designs connect designers with people like me who need help putting together logos, websites, and other graphic designs for their business or personal interests.

9. Teach English online
You’ve probably heard of people teaching English as a second language at local schools in the US and abroad. But what about teaching English as a second language online?
There are many online platforms that allow you to teach English as a second language from the comfort of your living room. You can set your own hours and be your own boss.
Try one of these companies to teach English online and earn extra cash:
10. Use cashback programs
If you shop online on a regular basis (
When I want to make a purchase online, I’ll go to the Rakuten website and search for the item I want to purchase. Rakuten gives me a list of stores where I can get cashback for purchasing the item.
I find the store that provides the largest cashback and
And it’s all done at no cost to me! It’s an easy way to make money online.
