1. In My Blood
This song is my alarm clock wake-up song right now. It starts softly (so I’m not shocked awake). Then it gradually builds momentum so that you’re ready to go build an empire by the end of it. Or at least get up to make breakfast.

2. Break My Stride
This song was my theme song of 2015. It’s a great rallying cry anytime you feel like there’s a hurdle in your way. Put this song on and you’ll be inspired to jump over that hurdle. And then turn around and stick out your tongue at it.

3. This Is Me
If I could choose a life theme song that played every time I walked into a room, this would be it. When Keala Settle sings “this is me”, just try to keep your fist from rising up in victory. I dare you.

4. Happiness
This lyric speaks to me: “I got dreams that keep me up in the dead of night, telling me I wasn’t made for the simple life”. These words actually have kept me up in the middle of the night, thinking of the awesome things the future might bring.

5. Man in Motion (St. Elmo’s Fire)
“I’ll be where the eagle’s flying, higher and higher” – how inspiring are those lyrics?! It’s one of the reasons this song made the list of inspirational songs that will motivate you for life.

6. I Will Survive
Gloria gave us the original inspirational song with “I Will Survive”. I also love this version of it sung by Tom Ellis and Skye Townsend on “Lucifer”.

7. Tubthumping (I Get Knocked Down)
As an American, I find the chorus of “pissing the night away” to be hysterical. But in the UK, it apparently just means “drinking the night away”. I wouldn’t recommend drinking the night away as a motivational tactic, but I would recommend getting up again when you’re knocked down!

8. Eye of the Tiger
No list of inspirational songs that will motivate you is complete without this song. We’ll save you, Rocky!

9. Strong Enough
I went to see Cher in concert a few years ago. She’d recently turned 70. At the concert she said, “I’m 70. What’s your granny doing tonight?” If that’s not motivational, I don’t know what is. We should all be Cher when we grow up.

10. Don’t Stop Believin’
The world may be absolutely nuts. But Journey can help us get through it. Don’t stop believin’ in a better future.

11. Beautiful Day
When I was selecting songs for this list, I almost didn’t include this song. But after reading comments on YouTube about how much this song was helping people right now, I had to include it. Here’s hoping this song helps you get through your tough days.

12. Fight Song
This is the song for anyone who was told a dream was silly or would never come true. Because honestly, who among the most successful people haven’t had naysayers who were proven wrong?
