1. PB Crunch Toast – Toastique
I like to pretend that I’m ordering breakfast when I get the PB Crunch toast at Toastique.
But in reality, I’m getting a mouth-watering combination of honey, peanut butter, and fruit that can only be described as dessert.
I often get this toast as a treat on Sunday mornings. It gives me something extra special to look forward to before the work week starts up again.
2. Cupcakes – Baked & Wired

Head to Baked & Wired or their sister location, A Baked Joint, and get your cupcake today.
3. Milk Chocolate Pot De Crème – Le Diplomate
Le Diplomate is home to the spectacular milk chocolate pot de crème.
This dessert is so rich that it has the singular honor of being the only dessert that I can’t finish in one sitting.
Split this dessert with the rest of your table the next time you eat at Le Diplomate. Or get it for take-out and hide the leftovers in the back of the refrigerator for safe keeping.
4. Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookie – Levain Bakery
Levain Bakery, the New York City staple, has made its way to Washington, DC.

5. Chocolate Macaron – Olivia Macaron
You now it’s good when you can’t help but go “yummmmm” when taking the first bite of something.
That was my experience when I bit into the chocolate macaron at Olivia Macaron.
My only regret is that I bought just a single chocolate macaron. I won’t make that mistake again!
6. Flavor of the Day – District Doughnut
The doughnuts at District Doughnut are too delicious to restrict to breakfast time!
These are not your run-of-the-mill doughnuts. Unique flavors like caramel apple streusel, everything cream cheese, and vanilla chai crème brûlée grace the menu here.
Be sure to ask for the flavor of the day doughnut. And prepare yourself for deliciousness like the chocolate old fashion and apple cider bites. So, so good.
7. Seasonal Ice Cream Flight – Ice Cream Jubilee
I love me some seasonal flavors. And Ice Cream Jubilee does them extremely well. But it’s hard to select just a single flavor when you know it won’t be around for much longer.
Enter Ice Cream Jubilee’s seasonal ice cream flight. Get a scoop of each seasonal ice cream flavor to try out.
Just plan on bringing a friend to split the flight with – it ends up being a lot of ice cream!

No one makes cake pops as well as Baked by Yael.
Imagine the best piece of cake you ever had. Now picture it on a stick. That’s exactly what you’ll get when you get a cake pop from Baked by Yael.
In addition to their location by the National Zoo, Baked by Yael is a staple at several local farmers’ markets. Now that’s my kind of locally-sourced food!
